Morning Reset Checklist: Gentle Habits To Support Gut + Hormone Health

Some mornings just feel off. You’re groggy, bloated, maybe a little anxious, and it throws your whole day out of rhythm. But what if your mornings could become a grounding space, a chance to reset your gut and hormones before the chaos kicks in? A gentle, consistent morning routine can be one of the most powerful ways to support your digestion, energy, and mood throughout the day.

In this post, I’m sharing a morning reset checklist — small, intentional habits that nourish your body from the inside out, and help you feel more balanced, clear, and in control (without needing to overhaul your life).

Before You Get Up:

  • Avoid your phone for the first 30 minutes

  • Take 3 deep belly breaths

  • Open the blinds or step into natural light

First Things First:

  1. Drink a glass of water (optional: with lemon or sea salt)

  2. Take a moment to check in with how you’re feeling

Movement (Pick One):

  • 5–10 minute walk outside

  • Light stretching or yoga

  • Just dance (yes, it counts!)

  • Rest today if your body needs it

Gut & Hormone-Loving Breakfast:

  1. Include protein (eggs, tofu, smoothie with protein powder)

  2. Add healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, nut butter)

  3. Include fibre (veggies, oats, flax, gluten-free toast)

  4. Optional: fermented food (kimchi, sauerkraut, miso) for gut support

Nervous System Reset:

  1. 5 minutes of stillness (breathwork, journaling, or silence)

  2. Gentle affirmation: “My body is doing its best. I choose to support it today.”

Optional Add-Ons (if you have the time/energy):

  • Dry brushing or gentle lymphatic massage

  • A warm herbal tea

  • Gratitude list or intention for the day
