Part 3: Whole Self Series. 8 Spiritual Wellbeing Tips to Bring More Meaning Into Your Life
In Part 2 of this series, we explored physical wellbeing the habits that keep your body strong and energised. But there’s another layer to living well: feeling connected to something bigger than your to-do list.
Spiritual wellbeing doesn’t have to mean religion (unless that’s part of your life). It’s about meaning, purpose, and the quiet moments that remind you who you are.
Here are 8 practical tips you can try to foster your spiritual wellbeing:
1. Start the day with intention
Instead of diving into tasks, take a moment to set how you want to feel today calm, curious, grateful. Let it guide your choices.
2. Spend time in nature
Walk barefoot, sit under a tree, or just notice the clouds. Nature is grounding and reminds you you’re part of something much bigger than yourself.
3. Practice presence
Whether it’s in conversation, cooking, or sipping tea, focus fully on what’s in front of you. That’s where life is actually happening.
4. Explore your values
Write down your top three values and use them as a compass for the decisions you make. It makes life feel more aligned.
5. Try breathwork or meditation
Even 5 minutes can calm the nervous system and create space for clarity. You don’t need to be perfect or sit still for hours on end, just be for a moment.
6. Connect with people that light you up
Spend time with those who make you feel inspired and supported. Energy is contagious, so you must choose wisely.
7. Engage in acts of kindness
Do something small and selfless, like checking in on a friend or paying someone a compliment. It shifts your perspective outward and feels really good.
8. Keep a meaning note
Once a week, jot down a moment that felt deeply meaningful to you either in a journal or on your phone. No matter big or small, just write it down. Over time, you’ll see what truly matters.
Remember, spiritual wellbeing is less about rules and more about feeling connected to yourself, to others, and to the world around you.
